368 MILLION DINARS FOR MEDIA
Belgrade, November 14, 2012. (Pregled) - The next year's budget invisages 368 million dinars for funding Tanjug, Radio Yugoslavia and Panorama, as well as 81 million dinars for calls for projects and programs in the field of information, it was said yesterday at the session of the Serbian Parliament Committee for Culture and Information.
Assistant Minister of Culture and Information Dragan Kolarevic said that March 28th is the deadline for adoption of the the law on the status of Tanjug, after which the state will be obliged to withdraw from media ownership in the period of 24 months. According to him, the status of Radio Yugoslavia and Jugoslovenski pregled will be determined by a document because it is a legacy from the former Yugoslavia. Asked by Gorica Mojovic, representative of the Democratic Party, about the details on the process of transformation of Tanjug, Radio Yugoslavia and Jugoslovenski Pregled, Kolarevic said that the state remained the owner of the property of public services but that it would not influence their editorial policy.
