SABIC: CHAOS IN ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
Belgrade, December 15, 2012 (Politika) - Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Rodoljub Sabic pointed yesterday to a chaotic situation in the area of oversight of electronic communications.
"We are just not capable of answering to any question properly, like the one who is doing an oversight of electronic communications and for how long, and here I am not only talking about chief of the state or deputy prime minister. It is possible that this is happening to tens of thousands of citizens, no matter if they are in a high position or just common citizens", Sabic said at the round table "Legal Monitoring of Media Scene in Serbia", organized by ANEM in Media Center.
Sabic also said that in 95 cases, journalists communicated with their sources electronically, on their mobile phones or by e-mails and that was the reason why the issue of secrecy of sources was pointless, as the information about the source identity could be provided in a matter of five minutes.
