ATTACKS ON RTV VOJVODINA IN PECAT WEEKLY
Belgrade, January 21, 2013 (Danas) - On the occasion of attacks on RTV Vojvodina in "Pecat" weekly, Sanda Savic from RTV Vojvodina said that it was a mere hate speech and chauvinistic act. This public service broadcasting institution announced the lawsuit, however, more important is the reaction of the state, which needs to put an end to such behavior once and for all, Savic said.
President of the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) Sasa Mirkovic said that the same person, leading RTS 20 years ago during the persecution of people on this station back in 1993, Milorad Vucelic, was now managing the newspapers that were ready to publish an article suggesting someone's nationalitly. It is one thing to discuss business aspects of public service functioning, but to label people on the basis of their national origin is something quite different, Mirkovic said, concluding that this article had brought us 20 years back, showing that some people would never change.
Nejdim Sejdinovic from the Independent Journalists' Association of Vojvodina saw the article from two angles. The first, as a process that has been led against Vojvodina for years, and the other - as yet another text among the many criticizing NDNV as a civil society organization, as well as Dinko Gruhonjic directly. This is all about opening a debate on position of Vojvodina and decentralization of Serbia, nothing else, Sejdinovic concluded.
