LJAJIC: BEHIND SCHEDULE
Belgrade, March 25, 2013 (FoNet) - Serbia is way behind schedule with the digitalization of television, the Minister for Domestic and Foreign Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said today at the consultations held in the OSCE Mission to Serbia in Belgrade.
Ljajic noted that the reason for being so late in the process was the disagreements on competences. He announced that the plan for transition to digital broadcasting would be completed by June, while the tender for procurement of equipment would be announced in September this year.
Culture and Media Ministry has prepared amendments to several media laws, including the Law on Electronic Media, providing the rules for digital broadcasting, Ljajic reminded and pointed out that the transition from analog to ditigal broadcasting of program was Serbia's international commitment.
