B92=ANEM=David's Star

NOVI SAD, April 28, 2004- In the centre of Novi Sad, near the Fish market, an antisemitic graffitto showed up, and it reads: B92=ANEM=David's Star. It was written on the gate in Gimnazijska Street between the Municipal library and an antiquary shop "Orfelin". In the Jewish district of Novi Sad it was stated that such messages no longer surprise them. President of the commission for monitoring antisemitic ocurrences Adam Tibor states for Radio 021 that it is a sign of the ascendant fascism in the society: "ANEM is the association of radio stations, and the progressive ones at that, and those people cannot stand anything progressive. That is a form of fascism, because unfortunately, there are fascist parties in the country today, the extreme right-wing parties. Unfortunately, the state has done nothing about it, but it should have", Adam Tibor said. Because of its multiculturality and multiethnicity, Novi Sad is a fertile ground for the extremists, whose activities are aimed at undermining the population's cohabitation. President of ANEM Slobodan Stojsic stated that hate speech is increasingly present. Mayor of Novi Sad, Borislav Novakovic, denounced the ocurrence of this antisemitic graffitto.
