Arrests reported in Jovanovic murder

PODGORICA, June 2, 2004 – On Wednesday, Montenegrin police arrested three men in connection with the murder last week of daily Dan editor Dusko Jovanovic. According to unconfirmed information, they are karate champion Damir Mandic,his brother Almir Mandic and Leon Dresaja, the owner of a Podgorica club. From 4.00 p.m. until late at night, police blocked Ivana Crnojevica Street around number 20,in the strict centre of Podgorica. B92 Podgorica correspondent Srdjan Jankovic reports that two vehicles were seized, namely, dark Audi A8 with Podgorica registration plates, and grey Passat with Berane registration plates. Police, prosecutors and the investigating magistrate have declined to comment on the information,released by TV Montenegro.
