INFORMATION ACT ADOPTED

BELGRADE, November 2, 2002 (B92) – The Serbian Parliament on Tuesday adopted the Access to Public Information Act by a majority vote. The Democratic Party, together with the Democratic Party of Serbia and G17 Plus, voted for adoption of the bill, while the Serbian Radical Party refused to vote after amendments proposed by the party were rejected. Of 231 deputies in the parliament for the vote, 147 voted for the Act, while 84 refused to vote. There were no votes against the bill.
