SUPPORT FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDIA

BELGRADE, November 10, 2004 - Nineteen of 83 Serbian media outlets and organisations have received financial support for projects in amounts ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 euros. The European Agency for Reconstruction provided financial assistance to The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), Atelier Varan, RTV Bajna Basta, the public company Stampa, Radio and Film Bor, Children's Television DTV, Ekonomist magazine, the Association of Local Independent Media, Local Press, RTV Nisava, Radio 021 of Novi Sad, the Novi Sad School of Journalism, Radio 016 of Leskovac, Reporter magazine, RTS for the program "This is Serbia", the ShockART production group, Suboticke novine, Time Out teen magazine, VIN production group, weekly Vreme and the Beta agency. Media Centre Executive Director Nebojsa Spaic described the project as being aimed at raising the level of professionalism in Serbian media, particularly in investigative and analytical journalism.
