NOMINATIONS FOR BROADCAST COUNCIL COMPLETED

BELGRADE, December 7, 2004 – The Serbian Parliament’s Culture and Information Committee announced yesterday that the Vojvodina Assembly has nominated media manager Goran Karadzic and sociologist Dusan Marinkovic for membership of the Broadcast Agency Council A new meeting of the committee has been called for December 8 to discuss the disputed nomination of Ljiljana Djurdjevac. Djurdjevac was previously nominated by the Culture and Information Committee as one of six candidates for council membership but, in the meantime became a Serbian Radical Party MP. Committee members and Social Democratic Party MP Ljiljana Nestorovic said that Rodoljub Sabic, a member of that party’s presidency, would be nominated as Public Trustee at the meeting scheduled for December 10. Responding to a question about the inadmissibility of a party official holding the positing of trustee, Nestorovic said that Sabic would resign his party posts in favour of the trusteeship.
