WORK OF INFORMATION COMMISSIONER STILL UNSURE

BELGRADE, February 18, 2005 – The Serbian Parliament’s administrative council has called the Parliament to enable the work of the Information Commissioner under legislative act. For the office of the Public Information Commissioner to start operating properly, the Parliament needs to vote in the act on its foundation, management, systematization and salaries of the employees. The Information Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic said that, besides electing the Commissioner, the state has not done all that was necessary for the implementation of the Free Access to Information Act, although the legislation was brought four months ago.
