RTS STRIKE POSTPONED

BELGRADE, March 2, 2005 – The RTS strike committee has postponed the work stoppage announced for today after getting the assurance from labor and culture ministers Slobodan Lalovic and Dragan Kojadinovic that collective contracts would be signed by April 15. “The strike is not called off, only deferred until April 15, by which time we would see if the terms were respected or not. It has been agreed that the Ministry of Culture would file a claim to the government, requesting the regulation on RTS financing, and introduction of subscriptions. We will also take into consideration the observations of Justice Ministry regarding our collective contract and I expect it to be signed by the proposed date”, said the Vice-president of the RTS’ “Nezavisnost” Union Dragan Milanovic.
