BROADCAST COUNCIL COMPLETE?

BELGRADE, March 4, 2005 – The ninth member of the Broadcast Council will be elected at today’s Broadcast Council constitutional session. The Serbian Parliament has appointed eight members of the Broadcast Council on February 17, 2005, three of them being old members. They will appoint the ninth member, who should, as it was envisaged by the Broadcast Act, be Kosovo resident and employee, thus constituting the Broadcast Council, which should have been established by the end of November last year under provisions of the Broadcast Act. Members of the Broadcast Council should propose their statute and financial plan to the Parliament. The Council is expected to begin its work in regulating the broadcast sphere in two months time.
